thank goodness for st. valentine

We had a great Valentine's this year, celebrating all those we love. Jared gave me the best present of all and cooked a delicious, gourmet meal: Oven baked chicken adobo, garlic rice, and spinach salad with apples and pears! Mmm I already want it again.

He also brought me a pretty red rose and some cake bites (which I didn't get a photo of  because I inhaled them too fast). I got him some new basketball shoes and made us "Better than Robert Redford" for dessert. I'm not lying, that's the real name!

Emmett cleaned up as usual. He picked out a new car - an orange Corvette (which he refers to as ah-car). Not sure if he's saying "A car" since I always taught him "this is a car" ... or maybe "O" car cause he can't say orange?? Who knows, all I know is he's obsessed. He also got a matching orange balloon and "Puss in Boots" on Blu Ray. Yeah, he's spoiled. But hey, it's about celebrating love and we looooove that that little rascal!

Emmett and I also made homemade playdoh out of koolaid (hot pink for valentines!) and practiced cutting out hearts. He had a blast squeezing the ooey gooey dough and playing with all the different cookie cutters.

have the exact same haircut as Emmett, or the fact that Brandon looks exactly the same!!

day 11: inside of your closet

Here it is in all it's glory- our shoebox of a closet! That's correct, it's not even a full size closet and Jared and I share it. I've maximized it to it's full potential but I still have to keep shoes, church clothes, and coats in a separate place. If I ever get the walk-in I dream about, I won't know what to do with myself!

Self portraits are always a little awkward because you feel so vain. I tried to incorporate some of the knowledge I've gained while studying for our new camera... but this was taken with my ipod so there's only so much I could do haha.

Jared's parents surprised us tonight and stopped by on their way home from Vegas. They took us out to dinner (perfect timing for today's photo challenge since Jared and I rarely ever eat out). At least the plate's a little more visually appealing than our typical dinners!

I've always wanted to do one of these daily photo challenges, and since today's the first of the month it's the perfect day to start!

My View Today

This is our view every Wednesday morning without fail thanks to Mr. Emmett. It's the highlight of his week and every day I have to update him how many days are left until the truck comes again :)
